Supporting the Profession Center for Women Womxn in Student Affairs AVP or "Number Two" Faculty Mid-Level Senior Level VP for Student Affairs
August 1, 2022

APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 14, 2022

The Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education (JWG) invites applications to join the Editorial Board for the 2023-2026 term. Applications should be submitted via the application form on the NASPA website.

The editors of the Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education seek individuals with expertise in research and/or practice that critically examines women and gender in higher education to join the Editorial Board. The journal’s mission focuses on scholarship that centers gender-based experiences of students, faculty, and staff while examining oppression, including but not limited to patriarchy, sexism, trans* oppression, and cisnormativity as they intersect with other systems of domination. The editors are particularly interested in manuscripts that not only focus on a gender-based group but also critically interrogate the ways in which gender has been used as a construct to limit opportunities and shape outcomes and experiences. The journal publishes high-quality and rigorous scholarship that can be used by NASPA members and others to transform daily practice, research, and the field of higher education.

Application Requirements:

  • Cover letter describing:
    • the applicant’s interest
    • qualifications (including a list of anonymously reviewed publications and previous experience with peer review processes)
    • areas of expertise (content and methodological)
  • Curriculum vitae or résumé

Successful Editorial Board applicants typically are published authors and have experience with the peer review process.

Submit your application by completing the application form on the NASPA website.

Selected Editorial Board members will be notified by December 2022.

Applications will not be considered complete without uploading a cover letter and a CV or résumé.
