Dr. Angela E. Batista is an ICF trained and certified Executive and Design Coach, a cultural architect, a recognized diversity, equity and inclusion Strategist and a higher ed and organizational consultant. She is the former Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at Champlain College where she currently serves as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisor. She is also the 2020-2021 NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) Board Chair. Dr. Batista is the lead editor of the 2018 publication, Latinx/a/os in Higher Education: Exploring Identity, Pathways, and Success.
A recognized and award winning national and international expert, Dr. Batista has previously worked in leadership roles throughout the United States, including Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Dean of Student Life and Interim Chief Diversity Officer at Oregon State University, Dean of Students at the University of Southern Indiana and in various positions at the University of Vermont, Lynn University, and Mills College.
Dr. Batista earned her doctorate in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and her master’s degree from the University of Vermont. Her undergraduate work was completed at Brooklyn College in New York City. Dr. Batista holds multiple certifications including Coaching (Academy of Creative Coaching), International Gestalt Organization and Leadership from (iGold Center) and Appreciative Inquiry Practitioner (The David L. Cooperrider Center for Appreciative Inquiry).
