The recipient of the award will be the Region IV-West nominee for the New Professional Award awarded by NASPA at the national level. This award is presented to an individual who has been in the profession less than five (5) years, is a NASPA member, and has made significant contributions to his or her campus, the regional organization and the profession. Nominees will be reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Employed in Student Affairs for less than 5 years
- Record of contributions to campus
- Record of contributions to NASPA and the profession
- Active individual NASPA membership
