Region IV-East Award for Inclusive Excellence and Student Success

This award is presented to an individual, office, department, or division at a college or university within the Region IV-East that demonstrates an exceptional commitment to inclusive excellence by advancing student success and fostering a welcoming campus environment where all students can thrive.

AWARD CRITERIA:

  • Measurable efforts that improve academic performance, retention, persistence, or graduation rates among diverse student populations.
  • Initiatives that foster a sense of belonging where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
  • Development or enhancement of structures addressing academic, financial, social, or emotional barriers to student success.
  • Active student involvement in the design, leadership, or implementation of inclusive initiatives.
  • Sustained commitment to institutional and personal growth through professional development, reflective practice, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Leadership in advocating for inclusive excellence through academic or administrative work within the profession.
  • Active NASPA membership—either institutional or individual by program contact

All active NASPA members may submit nominations. The Awards Committee will review each submission and may follow up with nominators to request additional context or testimonials from institutional partners. Nomination materials—concise statements focused on the award criteria—must be submitted electronically via the online form; letters of support are recommended. Award recipients will be notified in advance of the NASPA Region IV-East Annual Conference, where they will be formally recognized.

The award recipient(s) may be invited to present the selected program at the regional conference.

Winners will be notified and recognized in November.
