Region VI JEDI Knight of Justice Award

The NASPA Region VI Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee builds a community of advocates who commit to critical change and strive for inclusive practices in higher education. The JEDI award aims to recognize individuals or groups within their campus who have demonstrated exceptional efforts in advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, fostering an inclusive environment, and promoting positive change within the NASPA Region VI community.

The JEDI Award is presented to a student affairs professional at a Region VI NASPA Member institution who has demonstrated active involvement with JEDI through research, policies, and or practice. 

Recipient will receive a one year complimentary NASPA membership at the NASPA Member Institutional rate.

 

Award Criteria:

  • Demonstrated record of continuous JEDI support at their institution

  • Nominee must show engagement with JEDI values through demonstration of commitment to a specific campus initiative that supports JEDI. 

  • Recognized by constituents on campus as contributing to student success using JEDI framework

  • Current employment at an institution of higher education with an institutional NASPA membership in NASPA Region VI

Nomination Guidelines

Nominating someone is easy! One person should coordinate the submission and follow these steps.

  • STEP 1: Write a letter of nomination
  • STEP 2: Collect 1-4 letters of support and a copy of the nominee’s resume (their LinkedIn url can be substituted for the resume). The nomination must include a resume OR the LinkedIn url. 
  • STEP 3: The person coordinating the nomination should gather the nomination materials then go online to submit. You must upload all of the information at the same time. 
  • STEP 4: Submit the nomination by the published deadline!
