Supporting the Profession Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice Division New Professionals and Graduate Students Graduate New Professional
August 1, 2024
APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 1, 2024
The Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice invites applications to join the New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board for the 2025–2027 term.
The journal’s vision is to publish the most rigorous, relevant, and well-respected research and practice making a difference in student affairs practice. JSARP especially encourages manuscripts that are unconventional in nature and that engage in methodological and epistemological extensions that transcend the boundaries of traditional research inquiries. JSARP encourages research and scholarly writing by faculty, administrators, and students through editorial feedback and development of current and future authors.
The editors seek new professionals and graduate students with a strong interest in research and practice to serve as members of this new review board. The New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board will help to create a foundation of reviewers and authors for the journal and is open to individuals who are new professionals (less than 5 years in the field) and doctoral students. Members of the board will have the opportunity to review manuscripts alongside more seasoned reviewers and will gain an excellent introduction into the publishing process. An online training will be provided for all members, and each reviewer will receive feedback and support from the editor, associate editors, and assistant managing editor.
Application Requirements:
- Cover letter describing your interest in becoming a Review Board Member, your research interests, methodological expertise, experience with writing for publication, and a paragraph documenting your demonstrated commitment to equity and justice in higher education and student affairs.
- Curriculum vitae or résumé
Selected board members will be notified by December 2024.
Applications will not be considered complete without uploading a cover letter and a CV or résumé in PDF format.
