APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: OCTOBER 1, 2025

The Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, a NASPA-sponsored journal, invites applications to join the New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board for the 2026–2028 term.

The journal’s vision is to publish the most rigorous, relevant, and well-respected research and practice making a difference in student affairs policies, practices and outcomes for students, staff, and faculty. JSARP especially welcomes manuscripts that advance the field in meaningful ways. JSARP encourages research and scholarly writing by faculty, administrators, and students through editorial feedback and development of current and future authors.

The Executive Editor seeks new professionals and graduate students with a strong interest in both research and practice to serve as members of this review board. The New Professional and Graduate Student Review Board will help to create a foundation of reviewers and authors for the journal and is open to individuals who are new professionals (less than 5 years in the field) and doctoral students. Members of the board will have the opportunity to review manuscripts alongside more seasoned reviewers and will gain an excellent introduction into the publishing process. An online training will be provided for all members, and each reviewer will receive feedback and support from the editor, associate editors, and assistant managing editor.

JSARP is a publication of NASPA, the leading voice of student affairs. The journal publishes high-quality and rigorous scholarship that can be used by NASPA members and the broader community to transform daily practice, research, and the field of higher education.

Application Requirements:

  • Cover letter describing your interest in becoming a Review Board Member, your research interests, methodological expertise, specific experiences with writing for publication, and a paragraph documenting your demonstrated commitment to equity and justice in higher education and student affairs.

  • Curriculum vitae or résumé

Selected board members will be notified in December 2025.

Applications will not be considered complete without uploading a cover letter and a CV or résumé in PDF format.
