Call for Applications: NASPA Faculty-Led Institutes (2025-2026)
Supporting the Profession Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice AVP or "Number Two" Faculty Mid-Level Senior Level VP for Student Affairs
NASPA invites applications to serve as faculty or director for institutes taking place between October 2025 and summer 2026. Faculty serve approximately 15 months prior to the institute through the end of the program, with one debrief meeting post-institute.
Programs Accepting Applications in the Current Round
(closes December 2, 2024)
- 2025 Dungy Leadership Institute - will take place in June 2025 at Michigan State University
- 2025 Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Leadership Academy - will take place in October 2025 at a location on the east coast
- 2025 Institute for New Vice Presidents for Student Affairs - will take place in October 2025 in Washington D.C.
- 2026 Institute for Aspiring Vice Presidents for Student Affairs - will take place in January 2026
- 2026 Institute for New Assistant Vice Presidents - will take place in January 2026
- 2026 Small Colleges and Universities Institute - will take place in June 2026
- 2026 The Summit - NASPA VPSA Summer Convening - will take place in July 2026
The next round of institute faculty applications will open in February 2025 and will include the following events:
- 2026 Dungy Leadership Institute - will take place in June
- 2026 Institute for New Vice Presidents for Student Affairs - will take place in October
- 2026 Ujima Institute - will take place in October or November
- 2026 Escaleras Institute - will take place in October or November
- 2027 Manicur Symposium - will take place in January
- 2027 Dungy Leadership Institute - will take place in June
Qualifications:
- Must be in a role at an institution of higher education at the time of selection and through the duration of the event and have served in a role for at least 2 years
- Ability to engage in and facilitate conversations about equity and inclusion
- Active NASPA Individual Membership at the time of application and through the duration of the event
- Past participation in or familiarity with a NASPA Affinity-based Pathway Program (APIDALA, Escaleras, Manicur, Ujima, Dungy Leadership Institute) or other NASPA Professional Level Pathway Program (Institute for New AVPs, Institute for New VPSAs) - required for those applying to direct an institute
- For the Summit VPSA Summer Convening, Institute for New VPSAs, and Small Colleges and Universities Institute, must be a VPSA or equivalent role
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Active participation in planning meetings and institute
- Develop and present content for institute
- Actively promote the program to colleagues and professional networks
