Jeni Hart

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Jeni Hart is joining Margaret Sallee as co-editor of the Journal of Women and Gender in Higher Education in March 2020.  Jeni has served on the editorial board of the Journal About Women and Gender in Higher Education (formerly NASPA Journal About Women in Higher Education) since its founding. Jeni is the Dean of the Graduate School and Vice Provost of Graduate Studies at the University of Missouri (MU). She is also a full professor of higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (ELPA). Prior to her current position, she served as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Graduate Studies, the Assistant Vice Provost for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, and the department chair for ELPA at MU. Jeni has worked at MU since 2003.

She completed her BS in Foreign Service at Georgetown University (1989), her MEd in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration at University of Vermont (1993), and her PhD in Higher Education Administration at the University of Arizona (2002). She worked for 9 years as a student affairs educator at a number of colleges and universities, and one year as a faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University prior to joining the faculty at the University of Missouri.

Her scholarship centers on three mutually reinforcing themes: faculty work, gender and feminisms, and campus climate. She has published/in press 44 peer reviewed articles and edited book chapters. She has delivered 85 presentations at national and international conferences. She participates regularly in the AAU Association of Graduate Schools and the Council of Graduate Schools, where she is the chair of the Advisory Committee on Advocacy and Public Policy. Jeni has also been Co-PI on three NSF grants, collectively totaling nearly $3 million.

We are delighted to welcome her to the editorial helm and look forward to an exciting three years under her leadership.
