Why did you choose your graduate institution? I chose Fort Hays State University because of their holistic approach to student success. The small cohort allowed for additional opportunities and collateral assignments within my interests, making me invested in my education. In addition, while attending on-campus interviews I was amazed by the amount of school spirit and quickly encompassed the enthusiasm and dedication of a Tiger!
Why did you want to go to graduate school? I chose to pursue a Master’s Degree because of vast experiences within my undergraduate career. It was my advisors and fellow professionals who pushed me forward and challenged me to go above and beyond, driving me to take an interest in Student Affairs. I knew that in order to pursue my aspirations of helping others and growing professionally, going to graduate school was the appropriate step.
What area(s) of Student Affairs interest you most? Residential Life, Persistence and Retention, Admissions and Recruitment, Communications and Marketing, and Student Conduct.
What are your hobbies? Photography, arts and crafts, Pinterest, cooking, and shopping
If you could take a year off from work/school what would you do? Backpack Europe or road trip from coast to coast in the U.S.
What is your dream job? Dean of Students or TV host.
What is the best gift you have ever received? It is a tie – Either getting cast as Annie in the musical in 6th grade or being selected as the student speaker at my college graduation.
What is your secret passion? Watching sports – If there is a Packer game on, I am glued to the TV!
What you would like to be remembered for? I would like to be remembered for being strong, compassionate, and creative; willing to challenge ideas yet remaining open-minded and cognizant of others.
