Welcome to IV West NASPA Undergraduate Fellowship Program,

Congratulations to each Fellow in the 2016-2017 NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program.  You are now part of an experience that will impact your life and your future. As your NASPA IV-West Regional Coordinator, I look forward to helping you navigate the many opportunities that NUFP will provide in your life. As a NUFP Fellow, you will explore the career possibilities in Student Affairs and find support to reach your goals. Welcome to the world of NUFP, a rewarding and insightful experience.

While you will explore the profession of Student Affairs on your campus, you will also have opportunities to expand your knowledge of Student Affairs through regional and national conferences, the Leadership Institute and internships. Your peer network will be rewarding and enrich your NUFP experience even more. As you search for your professional passion, a team of Student Affairs professionals are committed to engaging you in meaningful experiences that will serve you well in life.

Please remember that your commitment to NUFP includes a significant amount of time including time with your mentor, reading, projects, discussions and interviews with other student affairs professionals. The quality of your NUFP experience will be a reflection of the priority that you give to NUFP. You will be amazed at what awaits you both professionally and personally through this experience.

While I am at the University of New Mexico as Senior Student Program Advisor, I intend to support you and your mentor to take advantage of this wonderful NASPA program. Through your example, students and student affairs professionals on your campus will become familiar with NUFP and seek to support and to participate in this program. It is an honor for me to get to know you and your mentor through NUFP. Please know that I am here to connect you to NUFP and to support you in this unique experience.

My sincere congratulations and good wishes,

Celestina Torres
