Just Say Know: A Contemporary look at Cannabis and the College Environment

In this session, we will explore current dynamics related to cannabis and the college environment as laws continue to shift in the United States. A snapshot will be provided of current cannabis trends and how to reach out to students in a relevant ways. We will examine strategies for capacity building in our communities regardless of the legal status of cannabis in individual states.

Learning Outcomes

By engaging in this session, participants will:

  • evaluate the strengths and challenges of regulated cannabis laws;
  • differentiate current cannabis products and their potential impacts;
  • learn strategies to address cannabis use across the social-ecological spectrum through application of existing prevention frameworks, with an examination of harm reduction-based strategies; and
  • differentiate Federal and State marijuana laws.
