Marching Off the Map: The Art of Leading Change

Education today is changing. Classrooms are shifting to become more relevant to the needs of students. This topic challenges educators to not only pioneer new territory, but also offers what direction is most strategic and how to lead the way into new territory.

Today, we’re leading a generation of firsts—kids who are growing up with a portable device in their hands. How do we navigate this world that isn’t going away, but that is reducing the empathy, patience and emotional intelligence of our young people? 

In this live briefing, Dr. Tim Elmore will discuss the new realities emerging in culture that impact the way students learn and what they need to know to prepare for life in college and after graduation. He will also discuss the increasing need for teaching timeless leadership principles that college students need to master before entering the workforce based on by seven major shifts to anticipate as Generation Y moves toward Generation Z. Student Affairs Professionals and Educators must enable the students to leverage what is new, yet at the same time, hold on to timeless values.
