Conference Focus Areas

As we navigate increasing challenges and obstacles, we will ignite the spark through the following three focus areas:

  1. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: How can we amplify the voices of students and professionals to make a difference in the current political climate? What strategies can we use to place diversity, equity, and inclusion at the forefront of our work?

  2. Community and Collaboration: Igniting sparks is about coming together, building community, and fostering collaboration. How do we foster relationships that ignite change across campus and between our institutions?

  3. Emergent and Responsive Practices: This theme symbolizes the belief that by igniting the spark of curiosity, inspiration, and innovation, we can create a brighter and more promising future for our students and the field of higher education. How can we build upon the initial spark to make a lasting impact in the field and beyond? Examples may include but are not limited to strategic planning and implementation, innovative applications of technology, and emerging practices in graduate education.
