NASPA-FL is proud to present the 2024 Annual Drive-In Conference, hosted on the beautiful campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland.
Join us on Thursday evening, October 17th, for our Welcome Social at The Joinery, and then on Friday, October 18th, for a full-day conference featuring concurrent sessions, an inspiring Keynote Speaker, great networking, and the Annual Awards presentation.

The 2024 NASPA-FL Drive-In Conference is open to all student affairs professionals, graduate students, institutional partners, and undergraduate students considering careers in Student Affairs.
This year’s Drive-In Conference will feature the NASPA-FL Social on Thursday; and educational sessions, guest speakers, and awards on Friday.
The annual NASPA-FL Social will be held on Thursday, October 17th from 6:00 - 8:00PM at The Joinery (640 East Main Street, Lakeland, FL, 33801).
The one-day Drive-In Conference will be hosted on the stunning campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland.

Awards
The 2024 NASPA-FL Awards will be presented on Friday afternoon, October 18th, at the close of the Drive-In Conference. These awards recognize the outstanding work and contributions of both individuals and programs at institutions throughout the state.
* Individual awardees must be members of NASPA, and programs must have been offered at an institution with NASPA institutional membership.
The deadline to submit a nomination is Friday, September 20th.

Pricing for the conference is as follows:

Registration as a member is based on individual membership status at the time of the event. If your current membership will expire prior to the event, you will have the option to renew at the time of registration to receive the member rate.
If you are not a current member and are employed by a college or university that is an institutional member, you can join as a professional affiliate member for $80. If your institution is NOT a member, you can join as an associate affiliate member for $250. Both membership types provide access to the individual member rate for the event. Keynote Speaker
Dr. Tierney J. Bates has established himself as an atmosphere changer, a national thought leader, speaker, networker, career coach, innovator, who prepares GENERATION NOW and students to dance across the world stage! He has given over 220 keynote talks, presentations, and workshops. With over 20+ years in higher education, he is currently the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina Upstate, he is known for his leadership, vision, and strategic initiatives and solutions with an emphasis in student success, diversity & inclusion, career & workforce development. He has over 12 regional and national awards, including the 2023 ACPA Diamond Honoree, the first national 2021 Mackes Leadership Awardee by the National Association of Colleges and Employers and NASPA Region III 2020 Outstanding HBCU/MSI Professional Award to name a few. Currently he is serving on the Melvin C. Terrell Foundation, the Region III Director for NASPA, and Chair for the University of Akron National Alumni Association.
Dr. Bates is from Cleveland, Ohio and received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media Communications with a minor in African-American History from the University of Akron, his Master of Arts in Higher - Education Administration from the University of Akron, and his MBA from Bryan College, and a Doctorate degree from Spalding University. He has served on five (5) non-profit boards, like the National Urban League and United Way and is a member of the greatest organization Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., 100 Black Men, NASPA Student Affairs Administrators, Southern Association of College Student Affairs (SACSA), National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA), National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and a Prince Hall Mason.
