From Practice to Publication: Demystifying Faculty Careers and the Scholar-Practitioner Path
Friday, May 30, 12 p.m. Eastern Time
For many women in higher education and student affairs, the journey to publishing and securing a faculty role can feel unclear and inaccessible. How do you translate practice into scholarship? What strategies help break into academic publishing? And how can you leverage your experience as a scholar-practitioner to make an impact?
This engaging panel, hosted by the NASPA Center for Women, brings together accomplished faculty and scholar-practitioners who have navigated these questions and carved out their paths. Panelists will share their personal journeys, demystify the publishing process, and provide concrete strategies for women looking to step into academia, publish their work, and bridge practice with scholarship.
While this session is intentionally designed to center the experiences of women, the insights and strategies shared will be valuable to anyone navigating the scholar-practitioner path.
Featuring:
- Dr. Nicole Pulliam, Associate Professor, Monmouth University
- Dr. Natasha Croom, Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, The Graduate School, Clemson University
